The Ocoee gutter-booking guide
Practical advice for choosing a gutter company, with local context on home types, rules and timing.

One-story homes
Single-story houses are the simplest case. The gutters can typically be reached from a ladder at ground level, and jobs on small homes can be quick. Prices in third-party guides reflect this: Angi shows small jobs close to $75, though a quote for your house may be higher.
Ocoee grew fast after 1990, so much of its housing likely dates from the last few decades, judging by the population figures on Wikipedia. We found no Ocoee-specific data on gutter types, so we look at each roofline as it comes.
Two-story homes
A second story changes the equipment, the time and the risk. Some companies will not work above a certain height, and others charge more. Angi describes hard two-story jobs reaching around $408 at the top end.
Ask any company whether they use extension ladders, a pole system or go on the roof, and which they prefer for a steep pitch. Tell us about low-hanging power lines, pool enclosures and landscaping that block ladder placement. Photographs of the back of the house are useful.
Do not climb up yourself to check; ladder falls are a real injury risk.
Townhomes and condos
Shared walls usually mean shared rooflines, and shared rooflines mean the association probably has a view on who services them. One listing site describes Prairie Lake Reserve as an HOA community whose fees include building maintenance. Check what yours covers, then decide who requests the quote.
When a manager orders work for a whole building, quotes often come per building or by the linear foot. Ask for the scope in writing and keep it with association records. See our condo and HOA page for a checklist.
Preparing for the visit
A little preparation makes the visit smoother and the quote more accurate. Clear the area under the gutters of furniture, planters and toys. Make sure side gates open. Mention wasps, which like to nest under eaves and are most active in warm months.
If you have a dog, put it inside. If you work from home, remember that a ladder and a blower can be loud. If you want debris hauled away instead of left on the beds, say so when we confirm the details.
Ask about payment in advance too, so there is no surprise at the end of the visit.
Timing your booking around local weather
The wet season typically starts near the end of May and finishes around mid-October, per the NWS Melbourne office. Booking in April or early May puts a visit before the heaviest rain. The height of pollen season is March and April, according to UF/IFAS, so a visit just after it can be efficient.
After a major storm, schedules tend to tighten. Hurricane Milton in October 2024 left parts of West Orange and Southwest Orange without power, according to the Orange Observer, and storms like it send many homeowners looking for a gutter cleaner at once.
Permits, licensing and the city
We found no permit rule for plain cleaning, which is maintenance. Roof replacement does typically need a permit, and Orange County publishes a roof permit page while the City of Ocoee runs its own building office at ocoee.org. Confirm which applies to your address.
If a company also offers repairs, replacement or reroofing, ask about its license for that work and verify it with the state. We do cleaning only, so those questions fall outside our work.
